Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Austria, Poland and Romania have been hit by a storm of rare intensity since Friday, September 13. Vienna and Bratislava were hit by heavy rainfall on Sunday, flooding the streets and some metro lines of the Austrian capital. The storm has caused several deaths.
The cause is an atmospheric depression that is moving across central and eastern Europe, as well as a drop in temperatures. The episode is expected to last until Tuesday.
