The trial of Luis Rubiales, 47, accused of sexual assault and coercion for having put pressure on the footballer in order to stifle the scandal, began on Monday and must last until February 19.
Luis Rubiales, who was president of the Spanish Royal Football Federation (RFEF) at the time of the facts and against whom the prosecution requested two and a half years in prison, presented the kiss imposed on the footballer several times after the victory of the Spain in 2023 during the Women's World Cup football as “A celebration kiss between two friends”saying that the player was consenting.
