Consider that the way in which the United States has decided, since February, to get closer to Russia to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, without associating Europeans, constitutes an alliance reversal within the Western camp?
We are in any case in a moment of Big Bang Strategic, which our fellow citizens perceive well. I am struck, by intervening in high schools, by the interest and the concern of young people. There are three elements that show this turnaround. The first is the pressure exerted by the United States on Ukraine, illustrated by the episode in the oval office of the White House, on February 28, when the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, was violently taken to task by Donald Trump and his vice-president, JD Vance.
The second reversal is the one that took place, for us, Europeans, on January 7, even before Mr. Trump's inauguration, with the targeting of Greenland, in a predatory logic which confirmed territorial ambitions already formulated during his first mandate (2017-2021). To this posture, JD Vance, to the Munich Conference on Security, must be added to this posture on February 15, where a hostile attitude was displayed not only towards the European Union as such, but also vis-à-vis European democracies.
