The Russian army announces that it attacks the Ukrainian oblast of Dnipropetrovsk
This is a first in more than three years of conflict. Before the Russian offensive in February 2022, some three million people lived in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, including around a million in the regional capital, Dnipro, which is regularly the target of deadly drones and missile strikes. Many Ukrainians, fleeing the fights in the oblasts of Donetsk and Louhansk, in the east of the country, had found refuge there after the start of the large -scale invasion by Russian troops.
