Kosovo has accepted, “In response to demand” From Washington, to accommodate up to 50 nationals from third-party countries expelled from the United States, the outgoing Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, announced on Wednesday June 11.
In his message published on Facebook, expressing recognition of Kosovo to the United States “For their support and cooperation”Mr. Kurti adds that the agreement is given for one year, and that the persons sent to Kosovo, one of the poorest countries in Europe, will be selected “From a proposed list” by the United States.
This announcement comes as demonstrations rage in California against the repressive migration policy of Donald Trump. In May 2024, Kosovars deputies had approved an agreement with Denmark providing for up to 300 foreign prisoners sentenced to this country.
Pristina sees in this help a way to show the “Eternal recognition” From Kosovo to the United States, which has always defended the independence of this former Serbian province, declared in 2008.
