With triumphalism, as usual for more than a quarter of a century in power, Vladimir Putin is about to receive in Saint Petersburg, from Wednesday, June 18, all the political and Russian business gratin. In his hometown, inside the flamboyant exhibition center built far from the waters of the Neva, the head of the Kremlin will chain three days during meetings with the big bosses, discussions with foreign delegations, interviews with the press. With, as a traditional conclusion of what has long been baptized the “Davos Poutinien”: the presidential speech, Friday afternoon, in front of a vast asset hearing.

Around the head of the Kremlin, the Spief (International Economic Forum of Saint Petersburg) will bubble for its twenty-edition, with some hundred panels of discussion on subjects as diverse as the future of energy, global tax cooperation, the professions for young people, cybersecurity or the future of drones and new technologies. In 2024, the organizers had recorded the arrival of 22,000 participants from 139 countries and regions, the signing of 1,073 agreements representing a potential of more than $ 60 billion (52 billion euros). Above all, these were agreements (or even simple memorandums of understanding, and not formal contracts) on the social and economic development of the Russian regions, paraphoned by regional governors and public groups.
