Russian photographer Maria Turchenkova has documented for The world The popular commemorations which took place, Friday, May 9, in Moscow on the sidelines of the official celebrations of the 80e Anniversary of the end of the Second World War, celebrated in Russia and baptized the “Victory Day”. Around the Red Square, portraits and flowers in hand, the Muscovites in turn paraded, to the sound of patriotic songs and the colors of the military uniforms inspired by the Soviet era. All, against the backdrop of war against Ukraine, where Moscow claims to fight “Nazis”.
