On October 8, 2023, the day after Hamas' attack on Israeli territory, Cynthia Tagger did not hesitate a second, she quickly completed her suitcases and embarked with her four children on the first available plane. “I started from Israel after losing hope. It's been a long time since I envisaged a departure with my family. For weeks, I had demonstrated against the reform of justice in Tel Aviv [à partir de janvier 2023]I saw the authoritarian drift taken by this government and the influence of religious on political decisions increase. But [l’attaque du Hamas],, October 7 [2023],, precipitated our exile ”explains Cynthia Tagger, coach specializing in public speaking for companies.
For the past five months, the fifties have chosen to settle with her two youngest children, 6 and 10 years old, in a peaceful suburb of Athens. After a brief stay in Zanzibar (Tanzania), she flies away for Portugal, then, for reasons of proximity to Tel Aviv-two hours of flight from Athens-, she decides to come to Greece, like other Israelis who found refuge in the Greek capital. Since then, she has been back and forth every two weeks to see her two eldest sons, 15 and 17 years old, and her husband, who remained in Tel Aviv.
