Apple does not plan to release the iPad Air with an OLED screen

Apple has developed the iPad tablet computers significantly in recent years. These devices have become an excellent alternative to laptops, especially with the presence of extras such as styluses, keyboard and mouse support. The company offers major updates for these devices with each generation.

And rumors have been circulating in recent months about the upcoming iPad Air tablet with a flagship OLED screen. However, famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the company does not currently plan to do so. It is reported that Kuo’s predictions are usually correct.

Instead of relying on the leading OLED screens, the company will continue to rely on the LCD screens it currently uses. Knowing that Kuo had previously predicted that Apple would rely on improved mini-LED technology in iPad Pro tablets, and it was.

The mini-LED technology replaces OLED technology in the Pro versions of the tablet. The main reason why this technology is exclusive to the Pro versions is that it is quite expensive. It is generally characterized as providing better performance on the one hand, and a longer life span on the other hand.

Apple used mini-LED technology for the first time in the 12.9-inch version of the iPad Pro. Which came early this year. While the 11-inch version did not support this feature until now, but it will get it soon.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also believes that Apple will soon use mini-LED technology in MacBook Pro versions. On the other hand, he revealed a very important piece of information. Namely, Apple is currently working on an entirely new technology for tablets.

This is where this new technology will allow the production of lighter and thinner tablets, some of which will also be foldable. But Apple needs three to five years to complete this development.

On the other hand, Apple is currently working, according to numerous leaks and reports, on its first foldable phone. In addition to working on a foldable tablet computer. But the forecasts indicate the arrival of these products very late, and the most optimistic is that they will come in 2024.
